Amélie Konšelová: Meet The Winner 2021
How did you hear about Elite Model Look?
First, I heard about Elite Model Look from my sister. She told me she saw a billboard with ongoing castings and encouraged me to try it. So, I went to one of the castings in a shopping mall and that’s how I got into modeling.
What did you learn from taking part in Elite Model Look?
Taking part in EML was one of the best decisions in my life. It has given me a lot of experience from people who have been in modeling for decades. It has also taught me a lot about posing, catwalk or about modeling in general. I have also learned how to stay professional on sets and I think this experience has also given me a lot of confidence.
What was it like to win EML 2021?
It was unbelievable. First, I was so surprised, and I couldn’t believe that I really won EML 2021. Even now I have moments when it seems like a dream and I need to remind myself, that it really happened. I’m lucky that my whole family supports me in modeling, so they were as happy as me and we were all celebrating this together.
What have you done since you won EML?
I’ve been to Korea for 3 months which was my first trip abroad with modeling. As it was my first bigger experience with modeling, at first, I was kinda shocked at how everything worked but then I got into it quickly and I was enjoying every moment there.
What is the biggest thing you have learned from yoga and meditation for being a model?
That everything happens for a reason and that thing will come to me at the right time. Meditation also taught me how to be present and enjoy every moment. I also realized how grateful I am that I’m able to have this kind of experience, meet new inspirational people all the time and just do what makes me happy.
Do you have any other passions outside modeling?
I love to experiment with cooking. I don’t have much time to cook these days, but when I have, I love to cook something healthy even for my whole family, and just enjoy the time with them. In my free time, I love to read books about personal development, and I also love to work out.
When you get tired, how do you stay motivated?
Whenever I feel unmotivated, I try to remind myself how far I’ve come and why I want to keep going. I always tell myself how much I love to do modeling and things connected with it. Suddenly I’m not that unmotivated. But I think the most important thing is to stay consistent with your goals and do the things you need to do, even if you don’t feel like it.
What is your advice to anyone entering EML 2022?
Don’t try to be like someone else. I think it is the most important thing in this competition and also in modeling. Everyone is just so different but that’s what makes everyone so unique.
