STAR SIGN : Pisces
FAVOURITE SONG FOR DANCING WITH MY FRIENDS TO: Anything disco, think Bee Gees More Than a Woman, ABBA’s Gimme Gimme Gimme or Rock With You by Michael Jackson. I like music from the 60s-80s.
THE LAST BOOK I READ: Turkish Delight (Turks Fruit) by Jan Wolkers. The book broke me, built me back up and then threw me back into the East Side River. It’s an emotional rollercoaster, and the movie also did it justice.
THINGS I LOVE ABOUT MY HOMETOWN: The flower fields! The “calmness” of a small town. The feeling of coming home after a long day at school — even though I haven’t been in school for 6 years. It always feels like coming “home”.
3 WORDS THAT DESCRIBE ME: Introvert with ADHD; which can be translated into being an extravert, but actually I am just really excited to see you and then I’ll be quiet for the next 4 hours (but still golden retriever energy going on).
I LOOK UP TO: Pretty much everyone being 5’4! But other than that my Dad and his mother (my ‘Oma’). They’re the reason I get out of bed in the morning <3
HOW I DE-STRESS: My ultimate way to destress is to throw myself BACK into stress by cooking, baking or making something else for my friends/family to enjoy. I love how stressed/busy I am in the kitchen and it’s a great way to push my current stress into a cake (you won’t taste the stress, though!)
IF I WERE AN ANIMAL I’D BE: I think the animal I relate to most would be a Golden Retriever dog. I am always very excited to see you (or other dogs for that matter) and I feel like I have a joyful and radiant energy about me. I also feel the need to protect, care for and give love to the people around me. I am also very dedicated and I have a lot of courage; just like a Goldie!
HOW I KEEP FIT: I played field hockey for about 8 years before quitting. I then didn’t work out for about 4 years because I felt like my mental health didn’t allow me to. Now I love to walk! By walking I stay in shape, get myself out of my house and I see the sun.
SOMETHING YOU’VE LEARNED DURING YOUR EML EXPERIENCE: To stop comparing myself to ANYONE; think age, body type, country of origin. And I think that’s a lesson I will remember and practice for the rest of my life.
